This blog will be featuring some topics about daily habits that heal 'SELF'

'SELF' is the person within and is whole. Just like nature, 'self' is enough, abundant, beautiful, & powerful.

We are human beings... BEING IS MOVING!

Dancing is what I do, teach and share...So, let's keep moving to heal the soul...it's a fun, effective, sustainable & holistic path to better health.

For years, I've researched African dance, emotions and specific food in relation to chronic health and in the last 5 years I started really implementing what I've learned and created a step-by-step system to help myself get better because I felt that I needed to take back control of my health after a second breast cancer diagnosis.

Many women feel like it's just a matter of time before they find themselves dealing with breast cancer, some are going through it now, others have been through it, and many are concerned about their daughters. Not surprising, because 55,000 women are diagnosed each year in the UK alone.

In Cameroon and other countries in Africa, breast cancer is still a taboo - and women die in silence. Since stress is also a taboo where I come from, I want to talk to women from the black and minority ethnic groups and find out about how they deal with the stress and taboos of serious health issues, how this affects their general wellbeing and their weight. Please get in touch if you can relate.

All of you ladies out there, I don't know how you are and how you're feeling right now, but I know how you want to feel. Healthy, less stressed out, not fearful and feeling good in the inside and looking great too. I also know that stress is at the root cause of many serious health conditions, but this can change... and if you start dancing your emotions, you can get there faster - healthy, less stressed out, not helpless at all - and no experience is needed to do this... Dancing your emotions can indeed help you become stronger, healthier, happier, and leaner - really a one stop shop, of Habits That Heal whole approach method through holistic African dance! A Workbook On This Is Coming Soon.

Okay here's my background story...

I started dancing professionally when I was 11 years old. At 19, I founded a dance company, later pioneered an Afro-contemporary dance style in Duala Cameroon and we toured internationally. I was then invited to the UK by the Art Council of England in 2000.

In 2005 however, at the peak of my career as a choreographer, I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.

I felt lost in a foreign land, in tremendous physical and emotional pain, alone as a single mum, helpless and num at the same time, as I was still grieving the sudden passing of my mother just a couple of years before.

Needless to say that my body and my mind were basically a hospitable place for all negative emotions you can imagine. Fear, Guilt, Resentment, Frustration, Anger, Sadness... and getting better health seemed like a dream to me and the excruciating pain of possibly not being around for my daughter visited me every single night... I was not only dealing with grief and health issues, but despair. Many believed that was it for me. So I was let go from my job as a dance instructor, and removed from a property I was about to buy because they thought that I was not going to make it. It was that bad. More on the blog... MORE

Navigating a serious diagnosis is smething that can hapen to us all. It's a journey that can be overwhelming, so I'm thinking that through a series of intentional sustainable steps, we can reclaim control of our health, feel empowered, and embrace positive transformation.

Join me as I take you on a journey of empowerment through health challenges walking through the pivotal steps to gain confidence, break free from fear, and embrace the power within. Together, we'll learn how to steer our health narrative towards empowerment.

When faced with a serious diagnosis, emotions of fear and helplessness often emerge...I'll now, but we most always remember that we hold the power to reshape this narrative.

So, Step 1 is to Gain that confidence to take control of our health and well-being, and braking the chains of fear.

Fear: Fear is a natural response, but also a silent killer so we should sthrive to stop fear from defining us...it's tough at times but it doesn't have to define us. How about doing some visualisations and letting go of the grip of fear, as we acknowledge it without letting it overpower us.

Embracing our Power Within: Realise that we are not helpless; you, I, we possess incredible strength. Once this becomes a reality in our mind, confidence becomes our armour against fear, transforming vulnerability into empowerment.

.

Our focus should really be on sitting on the driver's seat of our health and becoming the Driver of Your Health Journey...it takes confidence... and confidence is a conscious decision. Take charge of your health journey, make informed choices, and shift from a victim mindset to a victor mindset.

And remember that it has to bit one step at a time.

Every Single Step Counts: Progress is about small steps forward. Acknowledge your growth and embrace your potential for change.

Taking Action: Reflect on your journey, release fear's grips, and step into your true strength.
